It's actually a really fun game. You'll find yourself trying again and again to defeat the Wheel of Fortune in House of the Dead 3 and that boss in the water area in House of the Dead 2.
It's a classic and a must-have. Maybe it's just the charm of arcade games that keeps you wanting more.
I am NOT a fan of shooting games, and I'm not a fan of horror games at all. It's not even scary, it's just funny.
The House of the Dead spells a good time. I got this game because I just wanted to try a game that went with the Wii Shotgun.
It's very challenging, but I keep retrying and retrying because it's so fun blasting zombies' heads off.
It's not very hard to get the hang of, so even novices will be entertained. Having 2 games in 1 disc lengthen the life of the experience. Worth checking out. Lots of options allow the game to be replayed alot and not seem so redundant. Every time you beat it you unlock new extras.
It is worth the $30. Nintendo got this game right. This is a pretty good game if you like a straight up shooter. Even if you are not into shooting games this game is fun with all the horror and cheesy story line. This game is good to go. It is simple and straight forward which is the reason it is so much fun to play. The controls are on point with the aiming and firing and it is the closest thing to the arcade that I have seen on a console - it is also just as fun.
If you loved the originals on the Dreamcast or at the local arcade, this is a "Must Own" title. While there is nothing new in this offering, it is exactly what it is advertised to be. Many hours of on-the-rail shooting await. This disk contains two great games for the price of one. I've kept my Sega Dreamcast around for several years just to play House of the Dead 2. Now it may be visiting the trade-in stack.
But when I share the gun, I think it's pretty solid even with the Wii remote. Okay, that was pretty corny, but heck, the game has a chessy storyline.
This game is pure rail shooting at its finest. But who cares about the story.
House 2 and 3 has eaten so many of my quarters in the past, so I call this My Revenge on the Coin Op. Or perhaps it's a brain shooter.as that puts em down quickly.
Once you beat it, get HOTD: Overkill. It is a good representation of the older games, and I love the feel of it with my light gun.
All in all, for the price it's at now, 20 bucks, give or take, it is a no brainer.
